Purpose

Upgrade your team’s weekly sync from a passive status update into a results-driven PowerHour that drives momentum and clarity.

Background

We’ve all sat through status meetings that feel like a waste of time.

Everyone reports what they did, there’s some vague conversation about progress, and no one leaves with a clear next step.

That’s not just boring—it’s expensive and ineffective.

In Module 6, Lesson 2 of the Accelerator, we introduce the concept of the PowerHour—a weekly meeting format designed to align your team, clear roadblocks, and focus execution around what matters most.

A PowerHour isn’t about talking—it’s about moving forward.

Ingredients

  • A consistent meeting time and rhythm (weekly, 60 minutes max)

  • A shared weekly planning template

  • Clear focus on priorities, progress, blockers, and momentum

  • A dashboard that pulls in live data from your projects, people, and content

Steps to Implement

  1. Start with Celebration

    • Open the meeting with a quick round of wins.

    • This boosts morale and reminds the team of recent progress.

  2. Review Priority Progress

    • Walk through the Top 3 Priorities.

    • For each, ask: What’s the next milestone? Any blockers?

  3. Update Projects and Tasks

    • Check for stalled projects or overdue activities.

    • Use this time to reassign, remove, or reset expectations.

  4. Follow Up on People and Partnerships

    • Revisit key relationships and next check-ins.

    • Confirm who’s responsible for outreach and follow-up.

  5. Check Promotion and Content Calendars

    • Briefly review any launches or scheduled posts for the week.

    • Make sure your promotional machine is still humming.

  6. Assign Actions and Close with Intention

    • Every person leaves with 3–5 actions for the week.

    • Set the date for the next sync and confirm any check-ins before then.

Preparation Notes

  • Keep the meeting fast-paced and structured—this isn’t a time for rambling.

  • Use a central dashboard (like Notion) to keep all updates in one place.

  • Limit the group size to those actively involved in current projects.

  • Try co-hosting the meeting with a project lead or operator to keep things tight.

When done right, your weekly sync becomes more than a meeting—it becomes the heartbeat of your business. A PowerHour keeps your team aligned, accountable, and moving forward together. No fluff. Just progress.
