Purpose

Unlock peak performance across your entire team with one universal skill: personal mastery.

Background

While roles, responsibilities, and departments differ, one skill creates alignment, impact, and momentum across every team member: personal workflow mastery.

This isn’t just a productivity hack—it’s the foundation of high-performance cultures.

When everyone is clear on what matters, who supports the mission, and what work needs to happen, progress compounds.

At MDM, we teach a proven three-part system that helps individuals zoom in on their impact: priorities, people, and projects.

Whether you’re in marketing, sales, or operations, these three elements guide your focus and fuel your results.

Ingredients

  • Priorities Database: Know your top 3–5 focuses this quarter

  • People Database: Map the collaborators and clients who accelerate progress

  • Projects & Activities Database: Track and execute the tasks that bring priorities to life

  • Clarity on Role-Specific Outcomes: Know what success looks like in your seat

  • Notion Workspace (MDM Templates): Centralized system to keep all of this visible

Steps to Implement

  1. Clarify What You’re Focused on Achieving

    • Define your top 3–5 priorities this quarter (these are action-based, not results-driven).

    • Example: “Launch two new campaigns” not “Get 500 leads.”

    • Use the Priorities Database to log and review them weekly.

  2. Identify Who Can Help You Move Faster

    • List the people, roles, or partners involved in making your priorities a reality.

    • Build your People Database and tag collaborators to each priority.

    • Ask weekly: “Who needs a check-in, update, or nudge?”

  3. Capture the Work That Brings It All to Life

    • Break each priority into specific projects and recurring activities.

    • Use the Projects Database to track timelines and accountability.

    • Review your Daily Dashboard to see what needs doing today.

  4. Apply It to Your Role

    • Marketing Example:

      • Priority: Launch 3 campaigns

      • People: Video editors, writers, influencers

      • Projects: Video edits, email sequences, social assets

    • Sales Example:

      • Priority: Close 10 deals

      • People: Leads, partners, warm referrals

      • Projects: Discovery calls, follow-ups, proposal prep

    • Experience Example:

      • Priority: Improve onboarding journey

      • People: Clients, service team, feedback circle

      • Projects: New welcome kits, survey analysis, SOP updates

Preparation Notes

  • This is about self-leadership. Your title doesn’t matter—what matters is how you own your workflow.

  • Start messy. You won’t get your systems perfect at first. That’s okay. Personal mastery is built through repetition, not perfection.

  • Invite your team. If every team member tracks priorities, people, and projects, you build a self-managing organization.

  • Use The First System. This free five-part video course walks you through every step using real templates in Notion. Sign up below and install your foundation for personal mastery.
